The Ice Gods Moved In Overnight On The 23rd

January 21, the lake was wide open in front of the Georgeville Dock, it is always the last place to freeze in the winter, and thus has been the point of reference for various Lake Freeze betting pools. The Village Store in Georgeville used to run a pool for when the lake would freeze, and then when it would thaw. Niel McTavish would be the judge, as he was the "mail man" and his run took him along the lake road, McGooan Point Road. From his vantage point he could see what part of the lake was still open and when it closed over.

This is how it looked this morning......

January Afternoon In The Sun

The sun was shining, the water was open and shallow, it was a perfect invitation for a group of Mallards to enjoy the afternoon at the Georgeville Dock....... too bad I frightend them!!!
