Grey Cat Bird

Until recently I had not seen a cat bird. While walking in my usual haunts, I was sure I could hear a cat in the bushes. I looked all around and did not see any cat, but found this very grey bird sitting on the post. It was in full "meow" mode.

Let's call him Harry

He is a young Hairy Woodpecker, learning how to fend for himself, being taught by Dad. Dad is perched on the suet feeder, going to show little one how to eat by himself. Harry is very nervous, nearly falls of the swinging feeder. Dad is on the way to the rescue, brings food. "Now when I touch your beak, open it! There, by George, I think you've got it!"

While walking along a stony beach....

I found a small stone with the number 5 written on it. We are all counting our pennies, I guess Mother Nature is counting her pebbles

don't forget to click on the photos...

If you have high speed that is...... clicking on the photo brings it up to its full resolution and gives a better view.

I rescued a butterfly today from inside a house.....

this is what I got in return
